Cubsfan's Interview

Hello CITizens,

Today I decided to mix things up with my interviews. Instead of it text-based over IRC, I decided to try doing an interview of TeamSpeak with my friend Cubsfan004. Since we both use TeamSpeak quite frequently, and since it has a nice recording option, I thought it sounded like a great idea. This is my first voice interview so there will be a few small errors and such, but hopefully I can improve in the future if I decide to do another one.

If you want to listen to the interview click on this link.

Thank you for listining and supporting the CIT Blog!

P.S.- Tell your friends about the blog! Spread the word! The blog is becoming less popular D:

Steve's Interview

Steve’s Interview

1.      What’s your real name and country of residence?
Steve and I live in the USA

2.      How did you think of such a unique name for CIT?
It is my name, and  I used it on every server I played

3.      What are your hobbies?
Playing games, skateboarding, when I'm up north I snowboard, and chilling with friends and anime.

4.      So what are your favorite animes? What animes do you recommend for new anime fans?
Fairy Tale, Sword Art Online, and Clannad has to be my favorite. Those are the 3 I would recommend, but it really depends on what sort of anime they are into.

5.      What do you think about Naruto?
I don't like it.

6.      How long have you been playing CIT?
I played closed beta off and on, but I never really got into CIT until around Sept.2011

7.      How did you get invited to the beta?
I was never invited. I sorta just invited myself. I played the server that Arran had developed with Callum before he went off to develop CIT. I found out the password from a certain person who was invited. I got on, they knew who I was, but nothing really happened.

8.      What do you think of the other server in retrospect?
I didn't really like it. The leadership was lame, and it was pretty buggy.

9.      What are your real-life ambitions?
I plan on interning for the FBI in Washington my senior year in the university, and hopefully landing a job there. I also want to go to Japan.

10.  What do you plan on doing within the FBI?
Investigator. Field work, on murder cases and such things like that

11.  What did you like most about being an admin?
Being able to warp myself to a small disclosed location where no one could bug me. I also liked being able to put new stuff into the server.

12.  Favorite memory in CIT?
I don't really have a favorite moment. Just hanging out with Gus was cool.

13.  Do you have any in game goals?
I no longer play.

14.  Tupac or Biggie?
Neither. I listen to dubstep/hardstyle.

15.  Tell us about the early days of NSM
NSM started off in the server that Arran used to develop for. I created it with Gus, and it had probably about 4 or 5 people in it. Gus and I were usually on Skype with someone named Hyper(He changed his name a lot). It was usually us 3 that took turf We then grew in numbers, etc and eventually got allied with TS. Starcroc was the person that did the alliance stuff. We made some enemies like TCO, but overall it was pretty fun.
Eventually, Gus went over to CIT and asked me if he could bring NSM and I said yeah and that's how NSM got to CIT

16.  Tell us about being a developer
It was pretty annoying. I mostly had to come up with the ideas myself because everyone on the server development board only wanted things that would benefit themselves, or wanted things that only Arran/Cheeze could add. I was able to add a lot of things in though, and a lot of them are still used to this day One of them being /stats and the drive-thru

17.  How has CIT changed since you started playing?
I wouldn't really know considering I haven't actually played for almost a year now. When I left CIT, I never really came back

18.  Do you ever see yourself coming back to CIT?
No. I play World of Warcraft on 2 high raiding teams that takes up 4 days of my week, plus I work and go to a university.

19.  Describe NSM’s current situation
Probably not doing too good. Pretty inactive.

20.  Who is your best friend in CIT?
Gus

CITBook is here!

As most of you know, our developers have recently created their own version of Facebook for the server, but instead named it CITBook. The CITBook can be accessed by typing /citbook. CITBook has many features similar to the real Facebook. You can, send friend requests, have a custom profile, write statuses, send messages, view other people's statuses, and as of today you can even "like" statuses! Developers Gonzalo and Nvreformat are responsible for this awesome new feature. I hope to see more people use it in the future, because it is a little barren at the moment. There has also been a discussion about creating a shortcut in the CIT phone for CITBook, which I think is a great idea because will make use easier and also attract more players.

Pac-Man's Interview

Pac-Man’s Interview

1.      What’s your real name and country of residence?
Michael Ezell, and I'm from the U.S. I go by Mike though.

2.      What inspired your in game name?
There's a movie called ''Colors'' with Sean Penn, and his nick name in the movie is ''Pac-Man''. He plays a bad cop and I started as cop so I liked it. Good movie by the way, check it out.

3.      Do you have any hobbies in real life?
Yes, skateboarding, and lately I've been playing Ping-Pong every night. I like working on stuff around the house too, like repairing stuff.

4.      How long have you been playing CIT?
I started early October 2011, so you can say 16 months or so.

5.      How did you discover CIT?
I had no games on my computer and decided to download GTA SA and I think while looking for cheats or something I saw something about MTA and downloaded it. I joined the server with the most people in it and it happened to be CIT.

6.      What are your real-life ambitions and goals?
Long-term goals? Not sure. I just want to live life doing what I like to do, as long as I'm busy, working, and not struggling I'm happy.

7.      What do you like most about being an admin?
For one I like modding in the forum, the forum is the brain of the server and I like being a part of it.

8.      What is your favorite memory of CIT?
Turfing with NSM, the times before joining PA~

9.      What are your in game goals?
To help make BOCA greater than great, and to climb the ladder of the Staff team.

10.  Tupac or Biggie?
I hate them both. Their music was nothing special in my opinion.

11.  Tell us about the early days of NSM
Early days were great; I quickly showed Gus I was active and fit for deputy. Hardly any members but we got some good ones and worked with what we had. All I did was focus on making this gang good and respected.

12.  Tell us about your law days
I was a deputy in PAM with some players who turned out to be great players. All they would do was trainings and stuff and I'm not into the RP thing. For me it feels corny, depends though. I was also in SAPD when they were just a regular cop group. Those days were cool, we had a base right behind LSPD. Was also in FBI for a bit...Not too much to say about those days.

13.  Why did you leave NSM?
I went inactive for a bit, and I just noticed a lot of noob members in the later days. I was getting bored and wanted something new. And Chuck leaving sucked as well so that was also an influence.

14.  Describe the trouble you had finding a group after leaving NSM
I immediately wanted to join The Soldiers but that was at a point of total inactivity from them. Having no interest in any other gangs I joined F.B.I. but they can't turf and I can't not turf. I always wanted to join Hobos so finally did, but they are too good and we would take LV everyday and I got over it. So BOCA is where I am and have no plans of ever leaving...no reason to.

15.  Tell us more about BOCA
BOCA is a real criminal gang, the only real .keyword ''gang'' out there. They stand firm on what they believe in, and are more like a family...hence apps being closed forever. It's to keep the same people in the gang so they can become more of a family, than a gang that accepts 5 people a day and they are in and out, and a never-ending cycle. What other gang closes apps 'forever''? I think its bad ass.

16.  Tell us about what BOCA does for fun
Post up at Glen Park of course. Cops are naturally attracted to that spot, they go and camp and just wait for someone to get a star and then all hell breaks loose. Killing cops is fun to BOCA, but they do everything, also making videos. BOCA has a pro team of video editors; one is actually going to school for video editing and all that.

17.  So is there any plans for videos in the future by the BOCA team?
Yes a big Movie project is underway; it’s called ''Need for CIT''. That’s all I can say or know. There is a thread about it in BOCA board.

18.  Who is your best friend on CIT?
Chuck

Dusty's Interview

Dusty’s Interview

1.      What’s your real name and country of residence?
My real name is Leon and I currently live in Germany

2.      What inspired your in game name?
Well, I've used to have another name when I used to play on SAMP. That was "Canappa". But due to people bragging about its weed relations, in case it is a street name for marijuana, I've decided to change my name. I guess Medal of Honor 2010 mostly inspired my choice because one of the main characters was named Dusty.

3.      So how does SAMP compare to MTA? What made you switch?
Back then when I changed, I've had been playing on a "hardcore RP" server for almost over a year. I basically just got bored of SAMP and took a break. Somewhere in April 2011, a friend and I decided to try out MTA as we've heard a lot of good stuff about it. So yea I kind of liked CIT. About the differences, one might be that the chat boxes are different, but I guess that depends on the server configurations. About servers: There are a lot more RP servers on SA: MP than on MTA, I guess the only real RP server I can think of that is on MTA is Valhalla. SAMP-RP RU is kind of popular there I guess they have like 6 servers with an average player count of 700

4.      Do you have any hobbies?
I used to play basketball in a team for like 6 years until last year. We've played in junior leagues. Besides that I am supporting my fellow local football team Borussia Dortmund at any time and at any point. I am also playing guitar and piano, producing some self-made shit with friends

5.      How long have you been playing CIT?
I've joined the server in late April 2011.

6.      How did you discover CIT?
Well basically some friend of mine and me heard about it somewhere and yea decided to check it out. We've joined CIT because it had the highest player count (like 110 at that time)

7.      What are your real-life ambitions and goals?
I am currently planning to move to Argentina in September, joining a social project over there. Then after the project I plan on becoming a pilot for a commercial airline.

8.      Tell us about how you plan to become a pilot, what have you done in preparation so far?
Well besides playing Flight Simulator 2004 and shit, I've attended an information event hosted by Lufthansa, a major German airline, last year. Basically I will apply for a apprenticeship place at their flight school after my social year.

9.      What did you like most about being an admin?
Being an example for players in case acting as a good example for players and keeping the server clean from rule breakers.

10.  What is your favorite memory of CIT?
Founding the FBI and the day when the FBI became an official group.

11.  Do you have any in game goals?
Keeping the FBI alive I guess.

12.  Biggie or Tupac?
Absolutely Tupac, I am currently listening to Untouchable

13.  Describe how you became an admin for the first time
I was an air force major at that time, somewhere in late June 2011. Staff applications were open back then, I've never really bothered applying for staff because I didn't expect that I would fit into the team. But then Andre, another air force member, convinced me to apply. I became a Trial staff on 23rd June 2011, thanks to Arran.

14.  Describe your time in the Air force for us
I've joined them somewhere in late April 2011, quickly became an Airman Basic, that was the regular member rank back then, and yea made it up to Major within 2 months. We've had a lot of great people in there, especially BlackS, the General of Air force at that time.

15.  Tell us about why you got kicked from the staff team a few months ago
I guess I am not allowed to tell much about that as I would leak internal staff information. Basically it was because of my inactivity back then.

16.  Tell us about how you were involved in the beginning of SAPD
I guess it was Anon who came up with a major reconstruction of the police on CIT and as SAPD was pretty much the struggling flagship of the police back then, I've decided to join them as a Chief. They didn't have a lot of members at that time, so I started recruiting some people. Other achievements for the SAPD during my time include: a first base, merging with PAM, although that didn't get us any advantage besides an awesome leader, Chique.

17.   Tell us about your experiences with the FBI
I decide to found the FBI on the 9th December 2011. Rick (co-founder) and me simple got in game and started shouting in the main chat: "FBI is back - in game applications inside the LSPD". We've recruited a lot of good guys then. I guess even xb0x joined then. Arran gave us a /fbiadd command a few days later so we were able to use the FBI job. But due to people complaining about this because we were only a week old, we decided to abandon until we get an own forum board. So, 2 months later we got an own forum board and even vehicle markers. In order to get the vehicle markers, we made a pretty neat deal with the SAPD which got them the Government job as well. We decided to abandon the command until we got our own forum board.

18.  What do you see yourself doing in the future in game?
I guess I will continue to lead the FBI, that’s pretty much it.

19.  So do you ever see yourself leaving the FBI?
Highly unlikely.

20.  Do you want to return to the staff team in the future?
Maybe

21.  Who is your best friend in CIT?
xb0x

22.  What is your favorite cereal?
SpecialK (Kellogg's)

New Updates and Possible Changes

Today on the CIT news blog, I will be discussing the recent updates to CIT and the possible changes that could happen in the future. Since our last update (which was way too long ago considering we are a news blog) we saw a new server being added for VIP players. This server has numerous advantages like 10% job payment increase, the old Drug Shipment with higher rewards for escape, drug labs, less lag, free main chat, jobs located in Los Santos, and a smaller player count. Since the release of the new server called S2, it has seen player counts consistently under 100 players, but the people who play there really seem to enjoy the different style of CIT it has to offer. Since the server was released Arran reduced the minimum hours of VIP you can buy to 14 days instead of a month so more players can experience the server. He also created a command to turn VIP hours into S2 hours. 1 VIP hour can be turned into 3 S2 hours. If you have not tried out S2 yet I highly recommend that you do.

There have been a few smaller updates I want to talk about. Due to a new MTA update, we are now able to choose our walking style at the gym. Unfortunately, some of the skins are buggy and others allow you to sprint with heavy guns like the M4 and the SPAS. Other updates include a /comics command which allows you to view Dikhoofd's comics in-game, a more powerful sniper rifle, higher capacity AK-47 mags, and the automated quiz prizes were lowered. CIT has seen a lot of strides in development in the last few weeks, and we can only hope the developers keep doing a great job. You rock developers!

The last topic I want to discuss today is the possible changes we could see in the future. There has been a lot of discussion on IRC and the forums about creating a new server, S3, for civilian workers. An old developer who used to be known as Tyrone has returned to CIT under the name of JTPenn. JTPenn created most of the old civilian jobs when he was active, and now he has shown interest in creating a new business system, possible new jobs, and a separate server for civilian workers. A separate server would eliminate the civilian work force population which can reach around 100 players in peak hours. Eliminating the civilians from S1 would allow San Fierro to be used for Cops and Robbers, a second turfing city, or we may not even know yet, it opens up many possibilities for our server. The server looks like it has a promising future ahead of it, and it is a great time to be a CITizen.

More information about the new updates and changes can be found Here

Interview with Som3a

Som3a’s Interview

1.   What’s your real name and country of residence?
Ismail Mostafa Tawfik and Egypt

2.   What inspired your name?
Since my IRL name is Ismail, it's common to call anyone with that as "Som3a"

3.   Do you have any hobbies?
I do practice MMA, for like 1-2 months now, I also like playing soccer with friends and just hanging out at cafes

4.   MMA? Have you had any fights yet?
Ye but with the coach since I am still new, got my ass kicked

5.   How long have you been playing CIT?
1 year and about 3-4 months probably

6.   How did you discover CIT/MTA?
Some friend of mine known as Kingjoe told me about it, we 1st used to play in freeroam servers then heard about CIT

7.   What are your real-life ambitions?
Hmm well I hope that I one day would be an Air Force pilot or a commercial pilot, would love to fly and travel the world.

8.   What do you like most about being an admin?
Just the fact that I am able to stop trollers and DMers from ruining others game play.

9.   Favorite memory in CIT?
They day I joined SAPD

10.   Tell us more about your SAPD days. How long were you in SAPD?
Well I joined / left SAPD 3 times, but the overall would be like 9 months maybe

11.   Tell us about SAPD life, what did you do/enjoy the most about it?
The warm family feeling, we weren't just a group we were more of brothers / sisters. Also I felt that I was responsible for their safety and staying / providing anything I could in hard times.

12.   What are your in game goals?
Being a leader of a strong criminal group and being a L1+ staff

13.    How much criminal experience have you had before?
I only joined 1 criminal gang in my CIT life; it was called TK - Killaahhzz. It was my first and last criminal gang, and then I started the law life until last week and joined HoBoS

14.   Tell us more about your TK days.
Hmm I really don't remember much besides the fact that we were a lot and it had some friendly people. Oh and also it used to conquer LV a lot.

15.   What happened to TK? Did they die or were they like CIT’s first Crack?
For what I have heard, that its leader was banned and the group was deleted since they had many rule breakers, just like the Cracks

16.   Tupac or Biggie?
Both are good, in fact I am not really into rap music so my opinion is based in 2-3 songs maybe.

17.   Why did you decide to leave SAPD?
I wanted to join the criminal life, since I have always wanted to try it with all the new bank interiors and DFR / PDR, also law life started to get boring although it was way more organized and has less spam in there chat

18.   How do you like criminal life compared to law life?
I like the idea of always having a challenge against other gangs in LV and uniting in LS against cops, but the only thing I hate is the LV chat spam with shit like "X Gang is like crack" or "Y gang sucks"

19.   Tell us more about you getting staff
At first I was just a nub asking for it, but after sometime I realized that it’s not like that. So I started helping out the community as much as I could, I got the supporter then and my aim of being a staff member even got bigger, and here I am [CIT]Som3a

20.   Do you feel like Hobos is a good fit for you?
Well yeah sort of, it just has a couple of guys which need to fix their attitude a bit. I still can’t really judge thought since I am still new.

21.   Do you like turfing or arresting more?
Turfing is more exciting but arresting is easier but with the new arrest system I prefer tufing more.

22.   What is your opinion on the new arresting system?
It is fairer and realistic this way but I am not just used to it which makes it a bit annoying for me.

23.   Do you see yourself returning to SAPD or law life?
Hmm well if I don't think I will, but if I do I would create my own police group. But for the credit I don’t think that SAPD would accept me again since I left them twice.

24.   How do you feel SAPD will change without you or Rusty?
Hmm, well it’s not the first time for SAPD to lose any of its strongest members, DevranS and Price were and SAPD even got stronger. I personally see SAPD getting lead by Chique, Timtso, Lapeno and Skyace these four can fight threw anything and SAPD has gone thru a lot more than members leaving and look at them now; they are the CIT Government. Oh for me, leaving SAPD doesn’t mean I left the family, whenever SAPD would need me I would be there for sure.

25.   Who is your best friend in CIT?
Not only one but my closet is Chique, then comes Skyace, Ino, R.M.-D.J and our beloved fish "Nemo" Oh and also kagi and Gen.olo :3

26.    What is your favorite cereal?
